Jerry Pittman is hiring a Safety Inspector in Pascagoula, MS. This onsite position requires US Citizenship.

GENERAL FUNCTION: Inspects work areas and/or work practices to ensure compliance with safety rules and objectives. Prepares and maintains reports related to safety. Works under the general supervision of a Safety or Plant Manager.

TYPICAL DUTIES: The following statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed and are not to be construed as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.

-Instructs employees and supervisors on proper safety practices and techniques.
-Ensures compliance with OSHA regulations.
-Monitors and ensures continued adherence of safety rules and procedures.
-May investigate employee complaints concerning unsafe working conditions.
-Responds to workplace safety or security emergencies and issues.
-Inspects specified areas for fire-prevention equipment and other safety and first-aid supplies.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of state and Federal regulations relative to safety, health, environment, and workers compensation. Good knowledge of plant operations or the ability to acquire it a timely manner. Ability to maintain accurate, current records and generate complete and timely reports. Ability to maintain effective working relationships with all levels of employees.

DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Completion of standard education supplemented by training in first-aid. Some plant inspector or safety administration; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.

Pay: $20.56 - $24.76 per hour
